Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you’re looking for a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe, this is it! These cookies are everything a chocolate chip cookie should be, soft on the inside, crunchy along the edges and full of chocolate.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  • Using a stand mixer cream together the butter and sugars.
    1 cup butter, 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Add the eggs, one at a time. Mix well.
    2 large eggs
  • Then mix in the vanilla.
    2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Gradually add the flour mixture into butter mixture, and stir until combined.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips.
    1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • Use a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough for each cookie. Place 8 cookies on the baking sheet, spaced out evenly. Lightly press down the centres. See my tip above!
  • Bake for about 12 minutes, until the cookies are golden brown around the edges.
  • Cool on a wire rack.
