Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Just a Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie
These Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies are on repeat in our home! They’re just a classic cookie that everyone loves…the middle is soft and chewy, the edges are perfectly crunchy and you get chocolate in every bite. So so good.
Double the recipe!
This recipe as is makes about 24 medium sized cookies. But if you like big batch baking, feel free to double the recipe, that way you can freeze some for later. These are also great cookies for bake sales and potlucks.
Cookie Shaping Tip!
If you want ‘perfectly’ round shaped cookies, here’s my tip! I like to take a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough, shape it into a ball then lightly press down the centre…so it should look like a round disc (with a flat top) about 1/2 inch thick. This shape allows for the cookie dough to spread out and bake evenly.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Tips
- Chocolate Chips: This recipe calls for semi-sweet chocolate chips, but feel free to use dark chocolate or milk chocolate chips. Small chocolate chunks are delicious too!
- Baking Tip: Bake 8 cookies per baking sheet at a time, because they do spread out as they bake.
- Baking Time: These cookies take about 12 minutes in my oven. Depending on your oven, they could take 12 – 14 minutes. If you like them more crunchy bake them longer, if you want them more soft, bake about 12 minutes.
- Storage: Keep cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft and chewy.
- Freezing: These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months
Fun Serving Idea!
These cookies are perfect for making ice cream sandwiches! Just take a scoop of vanilla ice cream (or your favourite flavour), and place it between 2 cookies. You can even assemble the sandwiches ahead of time, then place them in the freezer (in a freezer bag) until you’re ready to serve.
