About Creamy Chicken Orzo:
Made with simple ingredients, this dish is easy to put together and can be ready in less than 1 hour. Tender chicken is added to a creamy mixture of orzo, cream and parmesan. The addition of a little bit of white wine and fresh spinach take this dish over the top! So so good.

A delicious one pot recipe.
Another great thing about this Creamy Chicken Orzo is that you can make it all in one pan, which means clean up is easy! I like to use an enamel pan for dishes like this, but you can use any frying pan. Use it to cook the chicken, then the orzo and creamy sauce. Then put everything together and serve it in the same dish. Love that.

Creamy Orzo Chicken Side Dish Ideas
You can serve this Creamy Orzo Chicken as a meal on its own, but if you wish you can also serve it with steamed broccoli or green beans, or a side green salad. Garlic bread is a great addition as well.

Creamy Chicken Orzo Recipe Tips
- Orzo: Orzo is a dried pasta that can be found in the pasta aisle of the grocery store.
- Chicken: Use boneless, skinless chicken breast for this dish. I like to slightly pound the chicken for this recipe because it cooks more evenly. To do this I lay the chicken breasts between two pieces of parchment paper then pound them with a kitchen mallet or the bottom of a heavy glass. They don’t have to be flat, just even in thickness, I like them to be about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick.
- Broth: This recipe calls for chicken broth but you can also use vegetable broth.
- Cream: You can use heavy cream, half and half or whole milk. The richer the cream, the richer the dish.
- Parmesan Cheese: Use grated parmesan cheese.
- Wine: If you don’t wish to use wine, you can substitute it with more broth.
- Spinach: Feel free to leave the spinach out if you don’t like it. But why would you? haha
- Stir stir stir! Make sure to stir often while this dish is simmering! This is to prevent burning to the bottom of the pan which can happen very quickly, especially if you’re using an enamel dish.
- What to do if the liquid cooks off before the orzo is cooked? Sometimes this happens, not to worry! Just add more broth and/or wine, about 1/4 cup at a time.
