Classic Egg Salad Recipe
If you’re looking for a classic egg salad recipe that’s delicious for sandwiches (and more), this recipe is it! This simple recipe is made with basic fresh ingredients.

Simple ingredients.

Just a simple, classic egg salad recipe.
Boiled eggs are a staple in our home, I will often make a batch and keep them in the fridge for snacks and lunch. But my favourite way to use them is for making classic egg salad for egg salad sandwiches. This egg salad is especially delicious on sandwiches (with white bread YUM), in pita bread, in lettuce wraps or over a bed of lettuce. Try it in a sandwich made with this delicious homemade oatmeal bread or these Cottage Cheese Bagels…SO good. Egg salad is also a great option for a summer picnic or potluck, and for using up boiled eggs at Easter!

Classic Egg Salad Recipe Tips
- EGGS: Use cooled boiled eggs. I like to make a batch the day before I make this egg salad so they are cool and ready to go.
- MAYONNAISE: I like to use real mayo for my egg salad, but you can also use miracle whip. You can also use Greek yogurt or sour cream, but keep in mind if you use these you might want to add a little sugar.
- ADDITIONS: This recipe calls for minced green onions and chopped celery (you can also use fresh chives, red onion, or any sweet onion). You can also add chopped chopped fresh dill, sweet pickles or dill pickles, minced bell peppers or anything you like! Some people also like to add a little mustard.
- SUGAR: I like to add a little sugar to my egg salad, but if you prefer, you can leave it out.
- STORAGE: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- GREAT FOR MEAL PREP! Make a big batch for lunches during the week.
